Petrilli/ALS Golf
Tournament |
Join us at Noon on March
30, 2009 at TPC Piper Glen in Charlotte for the
Dr.
Petrilli/ALS Golf Tournament. Bob Petrilli, father of
Alli, '08; and
Andrew, '05, has ALS and requires home health
care which insurance does not provide for. Organizers are
trying to raise money to help Bob and his family with this
terrible disease. The proceeds of this event will go
directly to the Petrilli family and a portion will also go
to the Joe Martin ALS Foundation, which supports patients
and their families stricken with ALS. For more information,
visit
http://www.golfdigestplanner.com/8876-BobPetrilli/.
The alumni phone-athon will be held in March/April.
Volunteers are needed to call alumni and solicit donations
for the 2008-2009 annual fund. Please let us know if you
are able to help!
Homecoming 2008 was held on Friday, October 10. Alumni from several classes, including those
celebrating reunions from '68, '78, '93. attended the
Alumni Tailgating Party before the b ig
game against Harding. A giant Cougar thanks to our
event sponsor,
Mario's Pizza &
Italian Restaurant,
who
provided delicious gourmet
pizza & snacks!
Be
sure to support them by visiting Mario's at 3016 Weddington
Road, across from the Siskey YMCA.
Mario's
offers a great selection of exotic and traditional dishes
including
their famous New York style pizza. Come visit the new
neighbors
in
the Plantation Market Shopping Center,
John's Place Bar,
for an upscale non-smoking
atmosphere and a full

Alumni, faculty, parents & fellow Cougars
gathered for a beautiful Christmas
celebration at the annual Christmas
Eve Mass on Monday, December 24 in the CCHS
chapel. Our Chaplain, Fr. Robert
Conway
officiated and Colleen Grady, '06; Carolyn
Grady, '08; and Cathy Grady provided readings. A very
big thanks to
MJ Dawson in Campus Ministry
for organizing the Mass. It really is a wonderful thing to
worship and celebrate Christmas with our Cougar family. We
hope you will join us next year!
The annual Alumni Basketball Tournament was held on
December
26 at CCHS and Holy Trinity. Congratulations to Let it Rain,
the 2008 CCHS Alumni Basketball Tournament champs!

final scores & roster.
Family and
friends made a day of it, and kids got to see that Dad
still can move on the court. It was a blast to see old
friends!
The CCHS
Athletic and Alumni Associations teamed up for a BBQ sale and
fundraiser, and it
was a success!
Thanks to everyone who purchased BBQ, and to the many volunteers
who helped with this fundraiser. Thanks also, to chef (and CCHS
Lacrosse Coach) Bo Turner for providing some great Q!
The Gin
Mill is our favorite spot for alumni events and reunions,
and we’ve continued that tradition with the Alumni Christmas
party. According to owner Chris Healy, '93, the party
on December 26 was the best turnout ever. Thanks to everyone
who showed up for cocktails, and especially to Chris Healy
for allowing our wild bunch to keep coming back to the Gin
Mill. We look forward to seeing you next year!
